Introducing a NEW Skin Rejuvenation Clinic to Launceston
About Dr Jehan Phillips
Dr Phillips is a General Practitioner in Launceston. He has a particular interest in skin rejuvenation and cosmetic medicine. This stems from his skill in skin cancer medicine, whereby he has had many requests from his patients for treatment of scars or depressions in the face and neck area caused by the removal of lesions of varying nature, whether they be concerning serious lesions, or benign moles. These requests, and his increasing interest lead him to have training through the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in skin rejuvenation and cosmetic injectable treatments, and provides the following services to his clients;
Cosmetic Injections
We offer simple non-surgical techniques to relax the muscles and smooth out facial lines and wrinkles. The typical areas treated by cosmetic injections include:
• Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
• Frown lines between the eyebrows
• Worry lines that run horizontally across the forehead
• Deep smile lines that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth
• Smoker’s lines or lipstick bleed lines that run vertically around the mouth
• Marionette lines at the corners of the mouth
• Lip enhancement
There are two types of cosmetic injections that Dr Phillips uses in his clinic.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Prescription-only product acts to relax the
muscle beneath the skin in areas of greater movement, thus preventing the wrinkle from forming in this area. This product acts for several months.
Please see below for examples of before and after treatment results.
Dermal Fillers
We can treat wrinkles and fine lines by injecting a
gel-like product into the skin immediately under the area we want to treat. The product is ‘filling’
the dermis of the skin, where the wrinkle has appeared. This treatment smooths out wrinkles and folds and helps to add volume. The products we use last many months, and this differs from person to person.
With some forms of cosmetic injection therapy, there are absolutely no immediate after effects and that is why it is often referred to as a “lunchtime” procedure. Occasionally, very slight redness or swelling can occur immediately after the treatment but this is short-lived and can be easily covered with make-up.
The photos below represent results from dermal filler injections.
Oxygen Facial Therapy
An Intraceuticals oxygen infusion facial is a very soothing, intensely hydrating treatment using hyperbaric oxygen technology. In just one treatment, the skin looks rejuvenated, radiant, and fresh, and the treatment is suitable for all skin types.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a treatment in which the dead outermost surface layer of the skin is removed by light abrasion. Microdermabrasion can diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, and coarse textured skin. Microdermabrasion makes it easy for skin care products to actually penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and help build collagen, which gives skin its youthful appearance. We use ASAP skin care products in conjunction with a Microderm at our clinic.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. There are several types of chemical peels available today, however the typical peels that we use here are AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), Jessner, Miami and Trichloroacetic Acid Peels.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a medical treatment whereby small doses of different medications are injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. This is performed over a period of time. These medications shrink the fat cells in the mesoderm and the fat is excreted not unlike other waste products. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including spot weight reduction, cellulite reduction, hair loss, scar revision and wrinkle elimination.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
For effective hair removal.
Smartxide Dot Laser
Advanced Carbon Dioxide Fractional Photothermolysis Laser can significantly reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and pigment changes on the face, neck, and other parts of the body.
Schlerotherapy
The reduction in appearance of unsightly spider veins by the injection of a schlerosing agent.
A thorough skin consultation with Dr Phillips is required before any of these treatments can be performed as the treatment is determined on skin type and analysis. An initial consultation fee is charged for this service.
