What do I need to do first if I want to see Dr Phillips to discuss my skin?

All you need to do is call the practice on 63311166, and ask our receptionist for a skin consultation with Dr Phillips at a mutually suitable time.

Is Dr Phillips trained?

Dr Phillips has had formal training through the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Do I need a consultation?

The initial consultation is necessary for any in-depth tailored skin treatment plan as it gives Dr Phillips the information with which he can devise the treatment plan specifically for you. There is a fee for this initial service. Dr Phillips will also consult with you at times throughout the treatment process if required, to determine the progress of treatment, if you decide to follow his suggestions.

How much do treatments cost?

The cost of specific treatments are very hard to put into a price list. The majority of times, it is determined on what the individual requires on a personal level and that is why it is difficult to tell you this over the phone, or for us to put a ‘price list’ on our website. Payment for consultation and treatment is required on the day. Please read our Terms and Conditions for further information on payments. To determine a quote for the treatments that are right for you, you are required to make a skin consultation appointment with Dr Phillips on 63311166.

Will the treatments work?

It is important for you to have realistic expectations about the treatments you have to improve your skin. If you have been enjoying the sun for many years without protection and therefore have extensive damage as a result, or even minor lines and wrinkles from sun-damage, these won’t disappear overnight, and in fact might take many months of treatment to look improved. If you have scars from acne, this takes time to improve. Aesthetic medicine is not an exact science, so results can differ from what is considered a usual response to a specific treatment, and results can differ from client to client. For example, we all know how great anti-wrinkle injections can be for the majority of clients, however, it has been known that some people do not react to this medicine at all, the medicine simply does not work on them. They are in the minority, but it does happen. It is important to take this into consideration when seeking out any form of skin treatment.

Will the treatments be painful?

Generally, the treatments that you undergo do not cause any pain at all, and in some cases, treatments like oxygen facial therapy can indeed be very relaxing. Cosmetic injections and laser can be painful for some people, however, there are ways of reducing the levels of discomfort. Please discuss these concerns with Dr Phillips.

Is the skin consultation obligation-free?

When you see Dr Phillips for a skin consultation, he is using his knowledge, training, and years of experience in medicine to give you the best plan to help improve your skin. This includes general information and education which includes advice about diet, lifestyle, hormones and smoking as they relate to skin. You leave the consultation armed with knowledge about your skin, and what you can do to help improve your skin. If you leave the process at this point, that is your choice.

Why do you use specific ranges of products?

The first influencing factor to good/better skin is skincare. This is unavoidable. The range that we stock at First Point Skincare are cosmoceutical products created and made by medical experts in the field, that we know work for the majority of clients. They have a good amount of active ingredients. They are Australian, specifically designed for our climate and conditions, and they are affordable. You are under no obligation to buy the products that we stock, but they are always available if you wish to do so.

Do all staff at First Point Skincare know about the skincare services that you offer?

As First Point Skincare is part of a medical practice, not all our staff are educated about the services and products that we offer. If you want to know more than what is on this website, please call 63311166, and make an appointment to see Dr Phillips, alternatively you can email contact@firstpointhealthcare.com.au and your questions will be answered promptly.
